An entertaining evening of beautiful melodies hosted by Wil Fundal
With his smooth and powerful voice and fun, bantering stage persona, Wil Fundal will take the ArtSpace stage on November 28th in a delightful concert. You may have heard Wil Fundal on CBC Radio or seen him in recent productions of Miss Saigon as Thuy or The Who's Tommy as the Specialist.
"His voice is like melted chocolate. When he started taking lessons with me last year, all the girls wanted to do duets with him. He was a busy singer at our year end recital," says voice teacher Dawn Boudreau. "When we were winding up Judy Russell's production of Tommy this summer, I asked Wil if I could produce a concert featuring just him. He wanted some friends to join him, so we asked Lydia Desrochers and Ben Brown to be a part of the show as well and it grew from there."
The music will vary from rock to jazz. Music from Across the Universe and Tommy will mingle with covers of Jason Mraz, Pink and Feist, to name a few. The concert will start off with a set by Ben Brown who plays guitar and sings in a pop/rock style. Ben will be joined by his wife Andrea Brown on vocals and percussion. Then Wil and Lydia will join Ben and alternate between singing solo and together for the rest of the show. There will also be some piano accompaniment by some of the performers, and Sarah Waters will add touches with her flute to some songs.
