Two Wonderful Opportunities To Enjoy/Support Young PG Artists

The delegates have been selected and this is your opportunity to take in some top-notch performances, as a number of young, local artists prepare for the 2011 Festival of Performing Arts BC in Kamloops next month.

Plan to attend the Prince George Speech Arts and Drama Festival's Honours Performance this Saturday evening, May 14th, at 7pm in the Weldwood Theatre at UNBC. The participants all gave outstanding performances at the recent 29th annual local festival and six have been selected to compete in the provincial festival in Kamloops, June 5th through 9th. From the gripping intensity of Shakespeare to the lighter side, you'll spend the evening being transported by the magic of the spoken word.

And then, on Thursday, May 19th, you're invited to the Northern Stars Concert at the Prince George Playhouse. This concert will feature participants from all disciplines who are heading off to the provincial festival. In addition to Speech Arts, the evening will include performances by local dancers and musicians. The concert begins at 7:30pm.

Admission to both events is by donation, so everyone is encouraged to come out, enjoy, and support some of the rising stars on the Prince George art scene before they travel to Kamloops.
