Voting now, voting Meow: a great use of Web 2.0 for marketing
You've got to hand it to Bryndis Ogmundson, owner of Meow Records in downtown Prince George, for making it this far.
Already voted as one of the top five music stores in Canada, Meow could very well take the crown, in no small part to smart and persistent social networking.
Bryndis has been using her Facebook group to remind her permission-based fans to vote, as well as using alternative media sources like thepulse.ca and Over The Edge to get the word out. All this Web 2.0 work has already knocked off most of her longer established competition, like Winnipeg's Into The Music, a very well known and well respected prairie icon.
If the ultimate measure of one's business is how many of its fans and customers are willing to vote for it, then Meow Records is very successful indeed, and perhaps the best in Canada.
