Beetlewood Bands Promotes Prince George Music

There's a new online community devoted to promoting Prince George music on a national level.

The Beetlewood Bands group will be focused on requesting songs by Prince George bands on radio stations such as CBC Radio 3. The idea behind the campaign is that if there is a concentrated effort on a select song, it is more likely to get the attention of playlist programmers. Since Prince George has a smaller population than cities like Vancouver and Toronto, and is less connected to regional centres, music fans have to work more strategically if they want their favourite local bands to get national airplay.

The current campaign is focused on the Arbitrarys' "Heat the Suck" and Corey Wintemute's "Oh Jughead."
